How to Remove the Search Box in Google Toolbar for Firefox
Some Firefox users do not install the Google Toolbar. It’s not like they don’t find the features of the toolbar helpful but simply because they don’t want another Google Search Box in their browser. But actually, it is easy to remove this additional search box.
- First, right click on any of the toolbars then choose customize.
- Then choose a Google Search Box you want to remove.
- Grab this search box in the icon window. Then click done.
If you choose to remove the search box from Google Toolbar you will not be able to use some advanced features. I chose to remove the search box from the Google Toolbar though, because I am more used to using the original search box at the upper right corner of my Firefox. I also noticed that the Google Suggest feature is still in the original search box, so I think I don’t have to worry. This is what my browser looks like after removing one search box, and the Google Toolbar is right there above the tabs.
Now, I have one Google search box and am still able to use other Google Toolbar features. And with the original search box, I can also choose a search engine to use. I can search on eBay, Yahoo, Amazon and among other search engines.
