How to be Invisible in Gmail Chat

I really wanted an invisible mode feature in Google chat since I started using it. It’s obviously not all the time I wanted to show to my chat friends that I am online. But since there was no option to be invisible in Gmail chat, I should either be online and get distracted with unwanted messages, or be offline and would not able to chat with the very important person I had to talk that day. Although when showing an online status I could show a busy sign, this did not guarantee that my friends won’t bother me.

But now, you don’t have to choose because Google finally added the invisible option. You will also appear offline in AIM if you are using AIM in Gmail.

The invisible mode feature, however, is still not available to other Talk clients like the Gtalk, but will still be added in the near future. So, if you try to log-in in your Gmail with an invisible mode in chat, and also log in in GTalk, you will still be visible to your friends.
