After a year and a half of acquiring JotSpot, Google finally relaunched the wiki hosting company as Google Sites—the newest member of Apps.  Sites is the result of the company’’s integration of JotSpot’s wiki services into their services.

So what can we expect with this new website?

Companies, teams, schools, organizations, or any group that uses Apps can now easily collaborate any information with the use of Sites. All they have to do is set up a wiki site and create pages: a web page, a dashboard, an announcement page, a file cabinet page, or a list page.

Aside from creating contents and tables for these pages; or uploading documents, presentations, and spreadsheets, they can also insert images, Picasa Web slideshows, and videos from Youtube or Google videos. If these are not enough they can enliven the pages or make it more functional by adding Google Gadgets like a calendar, a mini search box, or the Gtalk gadget. Attaching a file to a page they are viewing or commenting can also be done quickly.

Below is a video introducing the Google Sites.
