I love the Google translation tool. Sometimes after I had rechecked a draft translation by a native speaker, there was not much left to be changed. That's amazing. I do however make the translation and then google on the results to make see if this phrase is common. Works, as said, rather well. My second favorite is the Online Translator by Babylon. Mainly because of the huge amount of subsidiary dictionaries they offer for each language and can be browsed.
