google-templatesGoogle Sites had just launched a gallery of site templates. With the addition of templates in Google Sites, anyone can easily and quickly create their own website with pre-built content, embedded gadgets, custom page layouts, links, navigation links and themes.

The template gallery can be used by anyone for creating a personal website or a business site. You can select from various templates designed specifically for your needs, such as a Family Site, a Project Wiki, and a Classroom Site. If you want to see all the available templates, choose “Browse the gallery for more” when you create a new Google site.

You can also share your own site templates. Below are the steps on how to submit a template.

1. Select More actions -> Manage site -> General, and chose ‘Publish this site as a template.’
2. Choose a template name, a category, enter a description and click ‘Submit template.’
3. Your site template will appear in the gallery for everyone to see within hours.

One more thing, the site must be published and you must be an owner in order to submit the site.

Now, you can create a website for either intranets or team projects without any coding or HTML know-how. Just choose from the many available site templates and you can have your very own website. How cool and fun is that?
