With the aim of constantly making the life of developers as well as web users an easier and happy one, Google is very much excited to introduce another new tool to Google Web Toolkit called Speed Tracer. This makes building web applications fast and the applications you build run even faster. Isn’t this another great news or what?

Speed Tracer is a Google Chrome extension that will help developers to track and identify the performance of their apps by way of a “Sluggishness Graph”. It visualizes metrics that are taken from low level instrumentation points inside of the browser and analyzes them as your application runs.

So, what is this graph all about?
If the y-axis is close to zero, then the app is fast. But, if the y-axis tells you that you’re around 100%, then the app is slow or sluggish.

The “Sluggishness Graph” displays an indication of how responsive the user interface is at the specified time.  When you see tall peaks in the graph, they indicate that the browser is blocked for a significant amount of time.

Below, you can find the components of the Speed Tracer Monitor window:

Even though, this is a developer’s new best friend, regular web users still benefit from this amazing tool. What more can I say, except have fun with a faster web!
