Locking the Google SafeSearch Feature
The world of the internet has many bad, inappropriate and sexually explicit contents and images that you may prefer not to see or would rather your kids will not view or download from the web. It is not 24/7 that you are around and be able to guide your children on what to watch when they are in front of the computer. With the launching of SafeSearch, it will allow users to put the settings on the “Strict” mode by locking or filtering inappropriate contents or websites to protect or prevent your kids from seeing or downloading them. This is definitely good news to all parents out there.
Here are the steps in locking Google’s SafeSearch:
1. You need a Google username and password.
2. Go to the Google homepage. Click on the settings tab on the top right corner.
3. Scroll to the SafeSearch filtering tab.
4. Click Lock SafeSearch. Then sign in using your Google account
5. Click Lock SafeSearch button. This is the strict setting.
If you have multiple profiles in one computer, you need to lock SafeSearch in each of the profiles found in your computer. SafeSearch has been locked if you see colored balls on top of the Google search results page. If you don’t see any colored balls, just scroll again to SafeSearch filtering and click “Verify” to relock the SafeSearch mode.
